Mission Statement thoughts
Here are some notes about our mission and web presence that I did not get around to at the last meeting. Please see the comments for details and add your comments.
A nice statement (and web site) from a club that seems to share some of our objectives can be found at Mayslake "The club is founded to help photographers broaden their knowledge of nature and improve their techniques for “capturing nature’s beauty.” The Club’s purpose continues to be primarily educational, with an emphasis on nature study and photographic technique. I would like to keep in mind the connection to DNR and State Park missions.
Minnesota DNR Mission: "The mission of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is to work with citizens to conserve and manage the state’s natural resources, to provide outdoor recreation opportunities, and to provide for commercial uses of natural resources in a way that creates a sustainable quality of life."
DNR/Parks and Recreation Mission: "We will work with the people of Minnesota to provide a state park system which preserves and manages Minnesota’s natural, scenic and cultural resources for present and future generations while providing appropriate recreational and educational opportunities."
