Citizen Science - April 14, 2018 - National Eagle Center

From  Endel K:
I've noticed a lot of energy and interest around birds and birding in the camera cub posts. Perhaps others might be interested in this.opportunity to explore and even contribute this citizen science initiative (via expert data collection system developed by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology).  I helped work on the Minnesota breeding bird atlas and found the experience invaluable in expanding both habitat knowledge and identification skills.

Warmly,
Endel

Subject: Looking for some Atlas Help in WI
To: "Hall, Kristin" <khall@audubon.org>

Wisconsin Breeding Bird Atlas II is looking for Minnesota birders to help us out in our final two field seasons! Our most crucial need is for volunteers to deliberately bird in priority blocks that have not yet been covered, including many that either straddle or are just a short drive across the border. We know Minnesota has some great birders, and many who are probably missing the fun of atlasing since MNBBA field work wrapped up in 2013. Join us!

Interested?
·      Join us at our 2018 regional kickoff on April 14 at the National Eagle Center in Wabasha to get the basics.
·      Check out our 323 blocks needing most help. You can even sign up today to become the principal atlaser for one (or more!) of them.
·       Contact the county coordinator who oversees an area that you are interested in atlasing.
·      Sign up to receive the atlas enewsletter and follow the Atlas Facebook page.
